Project Summary:
The project area of Section 8 of Sharjah – Kalba Road lies between Section 6 of Sharjah – Kalba Road, near Shawkah to the Munaiy Interchange on the Huwailat – Hatta Road.
The scope of works comprised the construction of developing a dual existing carriageway between Shawkah and Munaiy for a length of 17.85 kms and the construction of 1.0m and 2.5m wide shoulders on median and carriageway edge respectively, with double sided concrete barrier along the median. It also included the reconstruction of an existing carriageway to suit the proposed horizontal alignment. All associated service works were taken care of along with the construction of box culverts pipe culverts and protection works.
